Nothing Shall Offend Them

“Great peace have they that love thy law, and nothing shall offend them.”  – Psalm 119:165

When you love the law of Life
You’re not offended
by Life’s bursting forth
out of all boundaries, all propriety
Loud, seductive, shameless
Always calling for more

When you love the law of Love
You’re not offended
by Love’s wide-armed inclusion
of everyone, everything
Never a need to have status, credentials
competitive edge, pedigree

When you love the law of Truth
You’re so full, each day
with the present dance of being
You have no time to be offended,
your every moment full
of living in the law of good.

Gold

This traffic
And this rain
And this pink-lined GPS
that shows me not moving
and may be telling me a bogus route
Cannot
In any way
obstruct the truth
of who and what and where I am

I am here
in the presence of peace
in the unfolding of Life
which ever takes
every sunlit and rain-drenched shaft of straw
and weaves
shimmering resplendent gold

Gold of liquid joy-filled richness
Gold of fine illumination
Gold of glowing moments and their memories
Lifting lilting luminosity
into all that’s here
Holding it eternal
where we are.

Soul Kiss

For you to take all that you need,
Greedily drinking from the great infinity,
Feeds me, too —
If you have made me conduit,
All that bright strength
whooshes through me on its way to you
So we rise together
Cleaving to the vast eternal stream
In every breath regenerated
Reengaging with our ancient dreams.

Destiny

It is no miracle
for Life to put us each
in our perfect place
For grand improbabilities of events
to make us converge
at the right site
and the right time
in the right readiness
to be the perfect gifts
for each other
It is as simple and steady
as the great breathing in and breathing out
of days, of tides
of heat that rises and falls
and vapors that return as rivers
to the sea

All these things accord with Life’s intent
to manifest itself, and so it does —
Our harmony insured
by what Life is:
Its fiat forms the worlds
and also us.

Alchemy

Here is an alchemy:
Not lead to gold
But led by the golden
glow from within
that homes to its source-light
steady, unerring

Here is the alchemy
that we behold
as we leave the old focus
and step forward, bold:
This light-washed vision,
All dullness resolving
till everything shimmers
in life’s vibrant tones

This is the alchemy:
Not something changed
But something conceived anew—
Radical point of view
Suddenly lightyears from what we’ve been told
What we had thought was so
Now so illumined
everything that we see
is gold.

In this lifetime

In this lifetime
There is no “not”—
Sweet soul,
Though worlds may seem to wheel
beyond your reach,
Great stars blinking
lightyears away
Though your high teachers
may seem to move
behind a veil
which no travail
can pull you through
And though you’ve felt you failed,
with nothing more that you could do

Rejoice, for this lifetime
— long enough for every dance of grace —
of galaxies, of atoms;
too short for any tedium —
each moment needed, magical —
Has every joy that you can dream
And calls for you to claim it,
Own your name:
In this life
there’s time
for all of you to shine.

Angels

Angels, like rainbows
come in the mingling
of rain and sun
of need and that which always stands to meet it

Angels come
because of ever present Love
that shines through driving storms of doubt
refracting light, illuminating, blessing
lending striking beauty to the dousing

Angels glow through you, they glow through me
We shine forth as our splendid halos hover
So we stand transfixed
at this most precious gift:
The way they make us angels for each other.

Navigating

In this fractal hall of mirrors
where everything you think
reflects itself on every level
everywhere you look
till thought resembles thing, resembles cause
You need to trust a different sense to guide you:
Close your eyes and pause
until you feel the inner weight and balance
always present, always true
that gives you poise, and finds your center,
sounds the thought-scape through
so you can find out where you really are

This is how you know what are the lies,
what are the laws:
In the grand dynamic that is you
Your deep harmonics clarify the view
And every scene that’s fractured must dissolve
Leaving you resplendent in your love.

Relativity

Everything changes
No one’s sense of self is static
Each one grows
Things you were so sure
would be impossible for them
become their norm
And things you thought you’d never do
You learn
(That’s why it makes no sense
to hold on to a past offense)

Nothing changes
The primal pattern reasserts itself forever
The track of every orbit orchestrated
The cords of union hold us fast together
However far we think we may have skated
(That’s why we recognize ourselves
in everybody else)

Never too far from home
Never too far
from where we can close our eyes
And let the scene reframe
In that bright centered place
From whence we always came
(The way of being that we always hoped to learn
And where, in soft precision, we return.)

Being Free

In this weightless place
Released from all the loops of thought —
of problems posited, solutions sought —
I offer presence

In this open space
where gentle currents
run clear and smooth
with time for many folds and curls
I yield my preconceptions

In this present grace
where eyes connect
and we have locked attentive
in a mutual orbit —
In this sacredness we move
and so we learn

Thought stilled of looping is free
to follow grander leadings
ever receiving the impulse
to show forth the truth that we are.
