Note to self – directionality

Look to your source  –
it shouldn’t be that hard to remember:
What you are comes from there,
what you do comes from there

You are not made of what you’ve bounced off of,
what you collided with,
what you grew up under

Your thoughts and actions
aren’t reactions
to what you see and hear
or what is done to you

Your source determines
all your quality, all your direction,
and all your flow.
Your actions can be free and clear,
your heart unsullied
and your life aglow.

Waking Up

I come out of the dream
of a small, dark, cluttered place,
and it takes me a while,
it takes me a while
to find my way back to myself

Oh, for sure, I was there all along,
the fabric of cause and effect I call me
never absent from thought –

Still, it takes a tuning –
tuning fork sound clear as water drops –
it takes being still, first,
then walking myself back,
back to my cause

So the sleepy gauze haze
can retreat from my eyes
and the clarion presence
that gives them shine
can reverberate through me anew.

Cause and Effect

I let myself tune in to
the stillness inherent
in being everywhere,
the power inherent
in being all that is,
the fullness of the satisfaction
of having nothing but the All
be my powering source,
be my cause, be my information,
be my identity,
be my reward

I’m ushered into
the potent hush
that can be anywhere
with no trajectory,
in which I wait
forever, but with no delay,
no hesitation, no lurch, no pause,
and live the sweet unfolding
of Life’s eternal law.

Conflict Absolution

The answer will come
at right angles to the conflict,
it will not take sides,
it will startle all sides to silence

There is a way out
of what seems most intractable —
it is the knowing
that we aren’t caused by one another
and that our cause will speak within,
to each of us,
and lift us up and show us how to go.

Center

I will sit in the calm of
what I know I know,
I will let its sweet reminders
quell my concerns, remove
the shadow of anxiety,
the push to make changes,
the constriction in my throat,
between my eyes

I will blink clear
remembering
everything is given us,
we are not abandoned

We are each the center
of ourselves, and each receive
the clear signal of our essence
from the very closest place within

So we intuit our cause
without a single pulse of separation,
so I can be assured
why I am.

Cause

We’re only a layer away
from the bright cause that animates us all,
only a layer, only a letting go
of what we now reflexively react to

Only the choice not to be caught up
in any of these urgent
cause and effect loops,
only the choice
to begin at the beginning,
right here, right now,
caused by nothing else
but what we are.

Whether

One world separates from another
along the subtle lines
of cause and effect.
They have coincided in thought
for a long time, and now the severance
brings astonishment

It comes down to
whether what you want
can be held hostage
to what somebody else
wants you to do,
and if it is believed
you have to pay your dues in suffering
to earn your worth for all the good you crave

Or whether you are free
to be the good you sense you are,
with no kowtow to any preconditions,
whether you must wait before you love
or whether you love first, and win the world.
