It is a tender time,
and the need for sweetness
may be mistaken for a craving
but it is really kindness we desire,
and the opportunity
to hold someone till all their fears dissolve,
to hold the stillness that can’t be moved
because it is everywhere,
to say good night with the assurance
of sweet dreams, deep rest,
and the splendid wonder
of an untrammeled morning.

Wendy – I loved the book that you and Jennifer created that was sent to my mom, Betsy Barnhart by your mom. Your poetry is wonderful and I so enjoy reading your works. It’s been a long time since I was your babysitter in Pasadena. I’m so happy to see what you are doing now. Congratulations!!
Thank you – it’s lovely to hear from you! I was just thinking about our babysitters the other day- you were one of my favorites, and I remember being sorry to hear it when you weren’t doing it anymore. Best to you – Wendy
