Colors of Heather

Behind me, to my left,
soft touch on my shoulder,
what I also see on sunlit trees —
pale golden yellow,
warm and sweet and gentle

Upward, to my right,
pearly opalescence,
tones of mauve and powder blue,
pure love, unflinching truth

Beneath me,
silver-dusted midnight blue
opening before my feet,
lit from some unseen source,
star path to infinity

These colors let me know you’re here,
waiting, with a patient smile
till I finish this bout of crying,
ready to comfort me when I look up.

  1. ” I just want what has touched me to rustle in you like sun-blessed leaves lifted in the morning wind.” Your poems are accomplishing this.

Seeing Heather in her magnificent expression of color is spot on. I am deeply moved with each poem you share and want you to know that they bring much inspiration and spiritual insight. Thanks again for you sharing. My thoughts are with you.
