We see the buildings crumble,
rubble all around,
we feel the wrenching,
hear the crying —
dizzy lurch —
no solid ground
One scene shifts to another
and everything keeps falling —
constructs of the hierarchy,
constructs of the mind
It all keeps falling faster,
solid forms
glide and disappear like snow
losing every reference
till we let go
Dawn requires no edifice.
Dawn, in its imperative
reveals itself. Nothing else
can hold an image,
nothing else makes sense.
So we lift our eyes to take it in —
the one true fact.
