Don’t fear the fire —
You yourself will shimmer
like a flame,
like a force being forced
through a charged field,
magnetic energy pulling strongly
in two directions at once
You will be changed
but you won’t be consumed.
It is ineffable,
inevitable —
You pass through and are ignited
and the silent heat
will ripple as it rises,
combustion of invisible gases
sending flames hotter, higher
This is just the way it is
at this emerging threshold —
Your being flows, transformed,
into the other side.

Mmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmm…. This one goes deep. Thank you Wendy!
Thank you for feeling it –
Thanks, Wen, I love it! It is especially meaningful to me, here in Milwaukee at the NCECA clay conference.
Yes, your deep experience with the changing properties of fire is inspiring. We’ll have to catch up soon!
Well, because I feel that I have been through a personal barn burning, this poem is so meaningful. I am being reminded of my courage and strength. Thank you Wendy. I love you.
Love you too!
such beauty and honoring of us and HER.
Nice to hear from you! I’m happy you found my site . . .
changed, not consumed – how true! Thank you for the reminder Wendy!
Thanks. This poem came to me as I was gazing into a fire while contemplating an upcoming communication that felt scary to me.
Wise Womyn you to use the fire energy (we have that fire in common!). I was looking for the “Like” button here – go figure! Love!
Love to you too! Hope to meet you in person sometime –
this is what I needed to hear today! Thank you
I’m so glad it found you!
